Ok, so I'm making polls out of anything anyone suggested that we didn't vote down last year. Everyone should feel free to make their own new polls if I missed something. Here are thoughts on the issue from the discussion thread:
I'd also like to see return yards scored.
Quick analysis on return yards:
The top five guys from last year were: (Cribbs, Amendola, Logan, Hixon, Weems) Cribbs had 1994 yards, down to Weems who had 1484. The guy ranked at #12 overall had 900 yards. These guys are all backups, half of them are RB's and the other half WR's.
So if we went 1 point per 25 yards and gave BIG points to this, Cribbs would have earned 104 points this year, just from returns and return TD's (he had 4) He also had combined 500 yards rushing/receiving, and two more td's which would give him a total of 166 points, and to compare to WR's, that would put him equal to the #9 WR, and only 2 points behind the #1 TE, Vernon Davis.
So I think that is fine. While highly speculative, clearly we will be placing value on Return Yards. If you think return guys shouldn't be so valuable, then vote for 1 point per 50 yards. That would rank Cribbs #26th over all WR's.
I think either way we go here is a fun addition.
